Understanding different graces
Grace is very powerful. You have probably heard of this term frequently. It is a term that is most popular amongst the Christian communities. Christians are the ones who use this term a lot. Grace differs by the way. You probably have heard of this term also. It is that popular.
You see, grace differs in accordance to the intended work. When grace comes, it comes for a certain work. It does not just come for fun. It comes to accomplish certain and specific functions. Also, even though you can hear this word or rather term so popular around you, it is not that cheap. Is the degree cheap? No. Is A drivers license cheap? Not a chance.
Today we are looking at grace and what it can do. What is really grace? In this article, we are going to look at the most powerful forms of graces. Are you ready to explore grace further? Let’s go if you are ready.
What is grace?
Grace is an enablement that enables you to do something. It is the strength or ability that comes into your life to do something. It operates just like a university degree. A degree gives you a right to work. It gives you the right to function. Also, not everyone has a degree, the very same way not every one has grace.
No matter how easy and loosely everyone talks about grace, it is not that cheap. It does not come cheap. Is a degree cheap? Not a chance. You can liken grace with a certificate of operation. You can liken grace with a driver’s license. Reality speaking, can you get a job without a certain qualification? Not a chance. Now, let’s understand different forms of grace.
Two powerful forms of grace
Like we said, grace differs and varies. There are two forms of grace out there. The following are the two powerful forms of grace:
- Unmerited grace
This is what Christ has done for you before you could do anything. This is salvation. The salvation system was concluded long time ago before you were even born. This is the Lord’s doing. This is the Lord’s work. Jesus died for your sins and saved your soul. This was done for you before you could do anything. God did this out of the goodness of his heart. This is what we call the grace of God.
You did nothing to deserve this. This is the act of kindness from God. Jesus did all the work of salvation and credited it to you. Yours is to receive by believing in this powerful work. Therefore, you do not have to earn your salvation, you just receive it. Jesus has earned it on your behalf. The work has been done on your behalf.
You just receive someone’s work on your behalf. Let me repeat, you did nothing to deserve this. That my friend is the unmerited grace of the Lord. Just believe and receive. You therefore cannot save yourself. You need a savior that died and did the work you could not do on your own. Grace has been birthed from the cross.
- Merited grace
If you understand that part, let’s go onto the next form of grace. The first one was unmerited. You did not need any merits for it. You do not qualify for it. You just got it anyway because of what happened at the cross. Now, let’s look at the merited one. Are you ready? Let’s go.
This is the grace that you have to qualify for. This one is already there but you have to pay the price for it. You have to get it on merit. You go to school to get a degree right? Yes. This is just like that. You get this type of grace after passing certain tests of God. It is not that cheap and easy as people make it to be because of their lip service.
An engineer is an engineer by the certificate at the end of the course. No one is an engineer before the course. One has to study and finish the course. After finishing the course, they will get the certificate to start applying for jobs. That certification would then allow them to work. You can then liken this type of grace with the process of certification. This one you earn it. You get it based on merits.
Though it is already there in Christ because of the cross, you need to qualify for it. You get on merit. It is not just throw at your lap just like the unmerited one. This one has to do with what you do or have done as a person but at the end of the day, it is still the grace of God because it comes from him. I hope I am clear. Grace here is the license of operation. It is the license of functioning.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Different forms of grace
Grace differs my friend and I hope you understood that fact today. There is the unmerited grace, the grace that you were given. It just fell on your lap because of what happened at the cross. This one God gave you because of his mercy. It was a nothing but an act of mercy.
While on the other hand merited grace is all about what you do or what you have done. That is the big distinction between the two forms of graces. Even though the second grace is merited, it’s still comes from God. That is why it’s called the grace of God in the first place. I hope you understood the two graces. The second one has a lot to do with you, hence it’s called the merited grace. You have to put yourself in a position to receive it.
